My Biography and Book Origins
Greetings, My name is Matthew James Allen. I am also known as Mickey
Allen by closer friends and relatives in Massachusetts. I live in
Up-State New York now, near Albany New York. I was born and
completed most of my education in Lowell, Massachusetts. I am 53
years old, divorced from marriage, with two adult children in their 20’s.
I
enjoyed living and growing up in Massachusetts. However, things beyond
my control lead me to move to New York State back in the year 1972, I
was 17 years old. (more about this story is in my book)
So, I have been living in Up-State New York for a long time now, but I
managed some how to keep my heavy New England accent. I am currently
employed with the State Government-State of New York, but within the
last year I have been out of work injured by an accident the injury has
gotten worse. While recently out on disability, I had the time to complete my manuscript that I have been working on for about two years. The
book is Titled: Convincing Evidence of God. In the book I detail from
personal experience as well as external sources
like historians, science, nature, logic, reason and others sources that God is real and I
know this personally!
A famous national publisher was very
impressed with my book and agreed to publish it. In the book I share my
testimony of how God has changed my life. And it explains how God’s
Love was shown to me repeatedly, but I was not paying attention. I was
distracted by all that was around me just like most young people today.
I was a rebellious teenager experimenting with the use of illegal
drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, crime, violence and premarital sex. I was
a teen age hippie growing up in the 1970’s and back then there was no
education against drugs and all vices and dysfunctions like there is today. With
all the education today about all the dangers of these dysfunctional behaviors, young
people really have no excuse for doing these things now
a days!. And although the book explains how Christ changed my life it
is not just an autobiography but also a revelation of Bible truths, council, instruction and prophecy
confirming the credibility of God and His Inspired Word- instruction and revelation to us.
It is a very inspiring-spiritual book that makes Bible prophecies related to Christ--the Character of God and His plans for you
and planet earth including last day events much more understandable. I
was raised as a Christian and my religious experience also includes
working for my church as an Ordained Literature Evangelist Minister,
Lay Pastor, Personal Ministries Director and Bible Worker and more for
several years. Although I do not have a degree in Theology. I have
studied Bible theology related to these Biblical topics for about
25years, and the writings of many Bible Scholars and Theologians and I
have learned much to share with you in this book.
My
publisher is in the process of marketing my book nationally, it will be
in all the major book stores like Barnes and Noble's, Waldenbooks,
Borders, hundreds of other book stores in America, and on many online
book stores website’s including Amazon.com around the end of May of
2008.
So,
I am a new author with a very uplifting but controversial spiritual
book on the market. I am amazed as I study the Holy Bible and see that
prophecies are being full-filled just as the Bible predicted, war and
rumors of wars and other last day signs of the times. The Bible says, “And as he (Lord Jesus Christ) sat
upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately,
saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign
of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said
unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my
name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And you shall hear
of wars and rumors of wars: see that you are not troubled: for all
these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. ( Some people scoff and mock and say
there has always been wars and rumors of wars and that may be true but
not to the point and scale that they are now. Nations or Countries now
can destroy the whole world with nuclear weapons and other weapons
chemical and biological weapons of mass-destruction.) “For nation
shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall
be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All
these are the beginning of sorrows. (We see all around us that the
world and nature is changing and diseases from pestilence in animals,
insects and humans are growing Asian bird flu disease, Mad Cow disease,
AIDS, HIV and more. Famines, in our country and other countries around
the world more and more people are dying of starvation! Earth quakes,
are in many places around the world killing thousand and thousand of
people on a much larger scale than ever before! A severe earthquake occurred on December 26,
2004, off the north-western coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The
quake measured 8.9 on the ricter scale and triggered massive tsunamis which
hit the coasts of more than 10 countries around the Indian ocean. The death
toll exceeded 270,000. Such a powerful earthquake reminds us of the signs of
the end time.) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you:
and you shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. ( When
the Truth about the Bible is taught more openly and clearly there will
be more persecution, but God will bless and protect those teaching
bible truth.) And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one
another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall
rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the
love of many shall wax cold. But they that shall endure unto the end,
the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be
preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then
shall the end come.” Read Matthew 24:3-33 There are also other last days Biblical signs of the times to confirm that we are in the end! The Bible says, “This
know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men
shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers
of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but
denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are
they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with
sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come
to the knowledge of the truth…( this clearly fits the description of people in our generation) ...Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ
Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax
worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in
the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of
whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou
hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto
salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly
furnished unto all good works.” 2nd Timothy 3:1-17.
“The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy.” Revelation 19:10. To
see very convincing evidence of God, we will investigate Bible
prophecies in my book, including dates, prediction about Christ His
birth, ministry, crucifixion resurrection, and ministry in heaven. But
also there are many future predictions found in the books of Daniel and Revelation
too. All these prophecies show how accurate reliable, dependable and
authentic that the Holy Bible really is. And they reveal the truth
about an amazing loving God and we will explore many more Bible truth's
like: What is God really like? Is the Bible the truth, why? What is the
'mark of the beast? Is the USA, some popular Churches, and the Muslim
Countries in Bible prophecies, How are they related to the ‘mark of the
beast’? Are the Ten Commandments important? What day is the true
Sabbath, does it matter? What is genuine Righteousness by Faith? Is Christ coming soon? Are we living in the very last days of this world? And much more! Some
topics in my book are very controversial. Some interpretations maybe
very different than you have ever heard before, but we must allow the
Bible to interpret itself that’s the key. It is
controversial in the sense that it differs with Roman Catholic
teachings and even some Protestant Churches as well. But with that said
I am a Christian and I believe Christ wants us to love one another
regardless of church, race, creed, or gender! And I believe that God
has true Christian people in many different churches, including the
Catholic Church, many of my relatives and friends are Catholic and I
love them. Any critical statement in my book about the Roman Catholic
Church or Apostate Protestant Churches is talking about the system of
their beliefs that contradict the Holy Bible. So I am talking about the
teachings and not any people or person and I do not wish to offend
anyone, but we are called to peace and love in Christ! Please check out the book and investigate these things for yourself, and determine the truth. My prayer for you is Lord God,
“Sanctify them by the truth, your word is truth.” John 17:17. “And you
will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”John 8:43.

Bible says, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asks
receives; and those that seek will find; and to all that knock it will
be opened." Matthew 7:7-8. From My Book Thoughts On The Love and Wisdom of Christ-God God in His wisdom and never-failing love for humanity, when He
foresaw that humanity was going to sin, (Adam & Eve) and be
separated from Him and true love and life. Because of His love for us,
He decided to come in the form of a human hiding-shielding His great GLORY and DIVINITY
so that we could be reconciled and redeemed form sin and death and united with Him. He has enabled us by faith in Him to understand His presence and to see His perfect
character of Love for us in the life and example of the the Lord Jesus Christ. Because humanity failed (Adam and Eve)
Christ-God who can not fail decided to come to earth as a human to show
humanity the way to live by trust in God’s Word and obeying Him with a
willing heart, responding to His love. He offers to take away our sin, guilt, shame, and to heal us and deliver us from all our dysfunctions and inabilities.
Remember
our first parents had eternal life and health just from a gift of our
loving God and accepting his provisions for them, eating from the other
tree, the ‘Tree of Life.’ Their minds and characters were so strong and
healthy and perfect. There was no selfishness and they had perfect love
and life. So when they did debase their perfect minds with their
strange choice. They caused a serious defect to that once perfect mind.
Now the very powerful human machinery was producing defects. Now after
sin their minds developed a natural but powerful bent toward sin, they
had a propensity to sin. A natural overpowering desire to sin-enmity
with God, that we all inherited. Selfishness is a sin, and it is the
true definition of sin. Righteousness is right doing, right doing is
love, the opposite of selfishness. Right doing-love toward God our
Father and one another is what we were created for and was our natural
character before the fall of our first parents. Their minds became
defective, fallen characteristics became their legacy, they developed
an enmity against the things God gave them and taught them. They became
selfish, self-serving, self-centered. Like their new god Satan. By the
way, if you grew up like I did as a child sometimes going to church but
not reading the bible for yourself. Then you probably were taught to
think that there is a God somewhere in heaven and a devil in hell under
the earth, and God is watch waiting for you to make mistakes so He can
punish you, which of course is not really true, but your taught to fear
Him. You are not taught that God is love and that He wants us to love
and trust Him. Also, you are taught that the devil is all red has two
horns and a pitch fork for some reason. But of course this cartoonist
images of the devil is ridiculous too. These misconceptions are taking
from different parts of the Bible out of the proper context and they
make the Bible sound more like fiction or a fairly tale and are trying
to teach you to fear, not to love. Actually according to the Bible the
Devil was created a beautiful gifted Angel in heaven by God. His name
was Lucifer the Shining one the ‘Light Bearer’ and him having a name
and authority like that made it much more easy for him to deceive,
because he use to have great credibility with God. But in God’s love
and wisdom He has created all His Angels and humans with the power of
free choice, He did not make them as robots. He wants only the service
of love by free willing hearts. The word devil and Satan means
adversary and devil spelled backwards says lived, he lived well until
he chose to sin against God and us. Satan was once named Lucifer,
before he rebelled and became Satan. He was made perfect and stood on
the Left side of God in Heaven and Christ stood on the Right side of
God the Father. Lucifer was the chief leader of all the angels in
heaven. Only God the Father and Michael the name of Christ before He
became our Lord and Saviour, only they were higher in authority then
Lucifer. The big difference between these two sons of God-Michael and
Lucifer was that Michael was the Elder Son and was not created He was
God the Son equal with God the Father, they were never created, they
are the self existing Ones they have no beginning and no end, they are
God. However Lucifer was created by God and Michael-now Christ.,
Lucifer was adopted into their family, like we are. And as a created
being he owed all his love and loyalty to God and Christ. But he
Lucifer became selfish, jealous and rebellious and wanted to be like
God.
The Bible says. "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son
of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened
the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘ I will ascend into
heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit
on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I
will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most
High.’ Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of
the Pit." Isaiah 14:12-15. So, Satan was once a very powerful and
gifted angel who fell by his own choice to advance himself above God
and because he stopped loving and trusting in God, and separated
himself from God. This is the beginning of selfishness and sin, it
originated with Lucifer. But God still loved him and did not destroy
him, but Lucifer caused rebellion in heaven trying to get the other
angels to follow and worship him. The bible says, there was war in
heaven,"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought
against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed
not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And
the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and
Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth,
and his angels were cast out with him." Revelation 12:7-9.
Of
Lucifer (Satan’s name before his rebellion) the Lord says of him, ‘You
seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.’ Ezekiel 28:12.
"He had been the highest of all created beings, and had been foremost
in revealing God’s purposes to the universe. After he had sinned, his
power to deceive was the more deceptive, and the unveiling of his
character was the more difficult, because of the exalted position he
had held with the Father. God could have destroyed Satan and his
sympathizers as easily as one can cast a pebble to the earth; but He
did not do this. Rebellion was not to be overcome by force. Compelling
power is found only under Satan’s government. The Lord’s principles are
not of this order. His authority rest upon goodness, mercy, and love;
and the presentation of these principles is the means to be used. God’s
government is moral and truth and love are to be the prevailing power."
Desire of Age pgs 758-9.
"Yet
Satan was not then destroyed. The angels did not even then understand
all that was involved in the great controversy. The principles at stake
were to be more fully revealed. And for the sake of man, Satan's
existence must be continued. Man as well as angels must see the
contrast between the Prince of light and the prince of darkness. He
must choose whom he will serve. In the opening of the great
controversy, Satan had declared that the law of God could not be
obeyed, that justice was inconsistent with mercy, and that, should the
law be broken, it would be impossible for the sinner to be pardoned.
Every sin must meet its punishment, urged Satan; and if God should
remit the punishment of sin, He would not be a God of truth and
justice. When men broke the law of God, and defied His will, Satan
exulted. It was proved, he declared, that the law could not be obeyed;
man could not be forgiven. Because he, after his rebellion, had been
banished from heaven, Satan claimed that the human race must be forever
shut out from God's favor. God could not be just, he urged, and yet
show mercy to the sinner. But even as a sinner, man was in a different
position from that of Satan. Lucifer in heaven had sinned in the light
of God's glory. To him as to no other created being was given a
revelation of God's love. Understanding the character of God, knowing
His goodness, Satan chose to follow his own selfish, independent will.
This choice was final. There was no more that God could do to save him.
But man was deceived; his mind was darkened by Satan's sophistry. The
height and depth of the love of God he did not know. For him there was
hope in a knowledge of God's love. By beholding His character he might
be drawn back to God. Through Jesus, God's mercy was manifested to men;
but mercy does not set aside justice. The law reveals the attributes of
God's character, and not a jot or tittle of it could be changed to meet
man in his fallen condition. God did not change His law, but He
sacrificed Himself, in Christ, for man's redemption. "God was in
Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself." 2 Cor. 5:19. Desire of
Ages pgs.761-762.

| | Thoughts From My Book God is love!”1st John 4:7 Genuine ‘agape’ Love is not just an emotion, it is a divine principal it’s divine compassion in action, a special consistent kindness but more, it is consistent right doing, with the right motive, and a gift from a loving God, to those who seek it. We of ourselves cannot naturally manufacture genuine love. We are not capable of true compassion because we cannot give something we do not have. We have selfish propensities, and live mostly for two reasons to find things that give us pleasure and avoid things that cause us displeasure. Genuine compassion love is from God and only comes from having a personal relationship with, Him. We have been separated from our loving Father God, by selfishness and sin, we have a void that only God can fill. When we experience this genuine love, we will have more joy, forgiveness, kindness, patience and treat others better and experience more genuine quality, happy, healthy, lasting relationships and we will be blessed with the Spirit of Living God. We will live by the ‘golden rule’ “Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.” Most of us are selfish, self-centered people. Why is this? It is a character defect we inherited from our first human parents and from lack of understanding or experiencing the power of God’s Word to change us to be more like Him. Also, perhaps you never had or experienced genuine parental love from one, or maybe even both parents. This is another reason some people do not trust in God’s love. Genuine parental love is a symbol of what God’s love is like, but God’s love is much deeper and broader and never failing. A parent’s love may fail us, but hopefully not! But it did me, due to the fact that I was an unplanned for child, my parents were young and not married and did not know the Lord well and lacked genuine love and they abandoned me. I have forgiven them. But that is a long story that I will save for another time. But experience and experts in child development confirm, children born or raised without both father and mother loving parents grow up to be insecure and troubled feeling rejected and unloved. However, I must say that I did have the nurturing love of a grandmother, aunt, uncle and relatives and that helped and I was very blessed and privileged to have their love as a substitute to what I should have had from my parents. It was especially the love of my Grandmother Vera Allen, she raised me and her love proved through the years to be true and never failed me. But she died-is resting in Christ now and I miss her greatly and I look forward to seeing her in the New Jerusalem-Heaven. And it was not the same. I still had a real void, wanting and needing to be loved by my own parents. When a child lacks love from their parents, it is much more difficult for that child to understand or trust in God’s love or anybody else’s! The results of this can be tragic. But there is hope in the love of Christ that heals and restores. We need a better connection with the source of this genuine Love that can transform us. God gave us fathers and mothers, to also help us to understand His love better. The family on earth is symbolic of our heavenly family. God wants us to realize that He is the loving Father of all humanity and we are all brothers and sisters in the same big family. God wants us to have kindness, patience, respect, forgiveness, and love for all humanity as we do for our parents, brothers and sisters-siblings in a family environment. On earth for most of us, the closest human relationship experience is in a family environment. The first, marriage and family were instituted in Eden in the beginning of the world. God in His love and wisdom prepared and created it for us. If you have had selfish unloving parents,or were raised in a broken home, with both or even one parent missing, do to death, divorced or other reasons, then it is more difficult for you to experience love and trust. I said it is difficult but not impossible! It took me longer to love and trust in a God whom I cannot even see, when I could not even love or trust in my own parents whom I could see. My Christian experience has suffered and my whole life has been more difficult, relationships suffered, my marriage’s, my children, all my relationships have been affected. But how much ever longer it took me and by the way, I am still learning and growing in faith and love for God. It is a growing and learning process! But for me it has been worth it all, because I searched and found a love greater than any parental love. I was on a mission to be loved and finally experienced it in God. And as a result all my relationships with others are much better and I better understand the values and responsibility as a man, husband, Christian, and father and if I never felt the void-the need I might not have sought for it so earnestly, or cherish and appreciate as much as I do now. So now I am thankful for all things in Christ. God’s compassion is a perfect divine, never changing, never failing love. This is the love your heavenly Father has for you, regardless of whom you are or what you may have done, God still loves you! If you come, too. Him, He will not reject you. He says, “Whoever comes to me, I will never turn them away.” He wants to enrich your life with love, the genuine love you need. Genuine love like we all need, it is missing in our world! I am now also a parent, not a perfect one. I do now understand how important it is to show my children genuine love and how it will help them to better trust and understand the love of their heavenly Father too. And it will help them to be better Christians and have more secure and fulfilling relationships and lives! Parents if you are estranged from your young children for any reason, reconcile with them, give them the love they need, and they will be better prepared to trust in God’s Love too! But perhaps, you feel you are already a loved and secure person, or parent, capable of giving and receiving love, experiencing it, and trusting God too. If so, then you will be even more prepared to experience an appreciate even more a deeper, broader, genuine love that comes only from God as I hope you will see in the truths in this book and may it help you to be a better Christian example and may God use you more fully revealing His character to the world.“The divine teacher bears long with the erring through all their perversity. His love does not grow cold: His efforts too win them does not cease. With outstretched arms He waits to welcome again and again the erring, the rebellious and even the apostate…for He traces from cause to effect. The one who is most easily tempted and is most inclined to err, is the special object of His solicitude.” (His tender care and compassion.) Education pg. 294. It is a great mystery how a perfect, righteous, infallible, infinite God could hate sin with such intensity, but, yet love the sinner with such an unchanging, unfailing love. I think even heavenly beings wonder at this mystery of God’sunconditional matchless love. One thing is very certain this could not be a God of human invention. I mean, we humans have never had this kind of love for others naturally. It is of a divine nature and it could not be manufactured or invented by any human. Therefore, never could a story about a God of love be manufactured by humans who could never experience such a love. So, that is more convincing evidence that the Bible is not a fictitious story book by the inventions of men. It is a true story about a God of love who has revealed His love in the likeness of His own Son and His love has transformed the lives of million and millions of us humans! Take some time to read this book prayerfully, with an open mind, and ask God if these things are true. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ for good works, which God prepared before that we should walk in them.” Eph. 2:8-10. We are not save by good works, but we will not be saved without them. “Faith without works is dead.” James 2:20. “Whosoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” 1st John “If you really fulfill the royal law (notice here the Apostle James calls the law the “royal law” and identifies it as the Ten Commandment Laws of God) according to the scriptures, you shall love your neighbor as yourself, you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin and
are convicted by the law as a transgressor, for whoever shall keep the
wholelaw ; and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he who
said, do not commit adultery also said, do not murder! Now if you do
not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor
of the law.So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.” ( Note the Ten Commandment Law is also called the ‘law of Liberty’) James 2:8-12.3:4. “For when we were yet without strength…Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die…for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commended his love toward us in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”Romans 5:6-8.”Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned…Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” Romans 5:12- 14.”For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:19-21. “Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which was His.” Desire Of Ages,p.25. “Such love is without a parallel. Children of the heavenly King! Precious promise! Theme for the most profound meditation! The matchless love of God for a world that did not love Him! The thought has a subduing power upon the soul and brings the mind into captivity to the will of God, the more we study the divine character in light of the cross, the more we see mercy, tenderness, and forgiveness blended with equity and justice, and more clearly we discern innumerable evidence of a love that is infinite and a tender pity surpassing a mother’s yearning sympathy for her wayward child.” Steps To Christ pg 6. It is a greatmystery how a perfect, righteous, infallible, infinite God could hate sin with such intensity, but, yet love the sinner with such an unchanging, unfailing love. I think even heavenly beings wonder at this mystery of God’s unconditional matchless love. And we need to listen to God speaking to our conscience. "But Becasue Christ the Son of God willing gave His life as a sacrifice to save all humanity from there sins. God the Father gave all Glory, Power, and Judgement to Christ as God the Son. "This was a voluntary sacrifice. Jesus might have remained at the Father's side. He might have retained the glory of heaven, and the homage of the angels. But He chose to give back the scepter into the Father's hands, and to step down from the throne of the universe, that He might bring light to the benighted, and life to the perishing. Nearly two thousand years ago, a voice of mysterious import was heard in heaven, from the throne of God, "Lo, I come." "Sacrifice and offering Thou wouldest not, but a body hast Thou prepared Me. . . . Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God." Heb. 10:5-7. In these words is announced the fulfillment of the purpose that had been hidden from eternal ages. Christ was about to visit our world, and to become incarnate. He says, "A body hast Thou prepared Me." Had He appeared with the glory that was His with the Father before the world was, we could not have endured the light of His presence. That we might behold it and not be destroyed, the manifestation of His glory was shrouded. His divinity was veiled with humanity,--the invisible glory in the visible human form. This great purpose had been shadowed forth in types and symbols. The burning bush, in which Christ appeared to Moses, revealed God. The symbol chosen for the representation of the Deity was a lowly shrub, that seemingly had no attractions. This enshrined the Infinite. The all-merciful God shrouded His glory in a most humble type, that Moses could look upon it and live. So in the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, God communicated with Israel, revealing to men His will, and imparting to them His grace. God's glory was subdued, and His majesty veiled, that the weak vision of finite men might behold it. So Christ was to come in "the body of our humiliation" (Phil. 3:21, R. V.), "in the likeness of men...
"In the eyes of the world He possessed no beauty that they should desire Him; yet He was the incarnate God, the light of heaven and earth. His glory was veiled, His greatness and majesty were hidden, that He might draw near to sorrowful, tempted men. God commanded Moses for Israel, "Let them make Me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them" (Ex. 25:8), and He abode in the sanctuary, in the midst of His people. Through all their weary wandering in the desert, the symbol of His presence was with them. So Christ set up His tabernacle in the midst of our human encampment. He pitched His tent by the side of the tents of men, that He might dwell among us, and make us familiar with His divine character and life. "The Word became flesh, and tabernacled among us (and we beheld His glory, glory as of the Only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth." John 1:14, R. V., margin. Since Jesus came to dwell with us, we know that God is acquainted with our trials, and sympathizes with our griefs. Every son and daughter of Adam may understand that our Creator is the friend of sinners. For in every doctrine of grace, every promise of joy, every deed of love, every divine attraction presented in the Saviour's life on earth, we see "God with us." "By His life and His death, Christ has achieved even more than recovery from the ruin wrought through sin. It was Satan's purpose to bring about an eternal separation between God and man; but in Christ we become more closely united to God than if we had never fallen. In taking our nature, the Saviour has bound Himself to humanity by a tie that is never to be broken. Through the eternal ages He is linked with us. "God so loved the world, that He gave His only-begotten Son." John 3:16. He gave Him not only to bear our sins, and to die as our sacrifice; He gave Him to the fallen race. To assure us of His immutable counsel of peace, God gave His only-begotten Son to become one of the human family, forever to retain His human nature. This is the pledge that God will fulfill His word. "Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder." God has adopted human nature in the person of His Son, and has carried the same into the highest heaven. It is the "Son of man" who shares the throne of the universe. It is the "Son of man" whose name shall be called, "Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isa. 9:6. The I Am is the Daysman between God and humanity, laying His hand upon both. He who is "holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners," is not ashamed to call us brethren. Heb. 7:26; 2:11. In Christ the family of earth and the family of heaven are bound together. Christ glorified is our brother. Heaven is enshrined in humanity, and humanity is enfolded in the bosom of Infinite Love." "The King of glory stooped low to take humanity. Rude and forbidding were His earthly surroundings. His glory was veiled, that the majesty of His outward form might not become an object of attraction. He shunned all outward display. Riches, worldly honor, and human greatness can never save a soul from death; Jesus purposed that no attraction of an earthly nature should call men to His side. Only the beauty of heavenly truth must draw those who would follow Him. The character of the Messiah had long been foretold in prophecy, and He desired men to accept Him upon the testimony of the word of God." Desire of Ages 19-27. We are so often distracted from spending time with God in prayer or bible study. “The pleasures of the world, life’s cares and perplexities and sorrows, the faults of others, or your own faults and imperfections—to any or all of these he will seek to divert the mind. Do not be misled by his devices.” Steps to Christ p.71. Spend more time with God. His love will awaken your love, and to know Him is to love Him! “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That He would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may live in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to understand with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians. 3:14-19
